The Feedback Loop

Every been in a boat and felt confused on what problem to tackle first? Yeah, I’ve been there too a few times. My brain actually feels like there is static in there with loud noises. Once I start to determine what technical problems to fix first then my brain starts to quiet and the boat rhythm starts to take over. I created a Feedback Loop to give you a visual of the process I use to fix technical issues. Why do we want to fix technical issues? We do it to unify the 8 individual rowers’ power application into one effective unified effort to move the boat AFAP (as fast as possible).

Next time that you are in a boat and feel a little hitch in your boat’s getty up, try my Feedback Loop. The secret to making this work is to listen to the change you are suggesting and feel the change. And bottom line, talk to your crew versus at your crew.

Steer Straight,
