Transferring to a new program…help?

Q: Unfortunately I will not be coxing for my college next year because I am transferring to a new college.   I spoke with the coach at my new college and he said that I would be able to come out for the team in the fall.  He said there are 2 senior coxswains, 3 sophomores, and 3 freshman so there will be a lot of competition for who gets boated I would think. Calling all Rookies! - 03/19/09

My definition of a Rookie in rowing is anyone training on the varisty squad for their first time. Rookie year was the hardest yet funnest.  It was my Sophomore year of college which was my first year on varsity. It was a year of a lot of learning the hard way...making mistakes and trying not to make the same ones again all while telling upper classmen what to do.
