Workshop #1: Race Tactics and audio Review
When: Saturday, 3-6pm
This is a 3-hour workshop for race audio review. Race tactics will be discussed and audio will be reviewed for best practices of race plan communication in small groups. Coxswains will share their recordings with their peers in a small group environment with the supervision of Mary Whipple and Katelin Snyder. Selected recordings from participants will then be analyzed as the groups come together to discuss best practices of communication to your team during high pressure situations. This workshop will be limited to 30 coxswains.
Workshop #2: How to be a Boat Mover
When: Sunday, 9:30am-1pm
This is the lecture based portion of the day focusing on maximizing practice time, race strategy, steering, and audio review/round table discussion. There will be an audio review session towards the end where 2 volunteers will share audio. If you are interested, please bring an audio example that can play without having to be streamed.
Workshop #3: Developing Your Technical Eye: Athlete Experience
When: Sunday, 2pm-4pm
This session is designed to focus on developing your technical eye, learning technique and drills to problem solve common boat problems, and working on core strength for better boat feel. Participants will start the workshop by watching technical video. Participants will then transition to ergs to practice technique and work on how suspension feels. Boat feel is a critical skill for coxswains to learn and that is why we finish the workshop with core strength moves.
